Getting started
Is it free?
Yes! Free at launch: every feature, no ads, no credit card. Create the trip, invite the crew, scan receipts, see who owes what and pay each other back in one tap: it’s all included. Later on, a low-cost trip pass, shared between travellers, may unlock some advanced features.
What about Android?
Yes: the new app is coming to iPhone and Android, with the same features. One trip works across both, no problem.
How many people can join a trip?
As many as you are. Split2Trip is built for big crews of 15 to 20 travellers, with subgroups for a car, a room or an activity.
Do I need an account?
Whoever creates the trip needs an account, set up in seconds with Apple or Google. Everyone else can join in without one, and create one whenever they like.
The group
Do my friends need to install the app?
No. Add them with just a first name: they count in the split from the very first expense. The day Léa installs the app, she picks her name and finds everything that was logged for her.
How do I join a trip?
Sayn shows the trip’s QR code, Marion scans it with her phone: she joins the trip and the crew, no invitation to fill in.
What’s a subgroup?
A shortcut to split an expense between the people involved: “Surya’s car”, “Room 1”, “Kayak trip”. One tap, and the fuel is only split between the passengers.

How does receipt scanning work?
You take a photo of the receipt: the amount, date and shop fill themselves in. You check, choose who paid and for whom, and it’s logged.
What categories are there for the road?
Tolls, fuel and EV charging, on top of the classics (accommodation, restaurants, groceries, activities). You finally know where the road-trip budget goes.
How do we pay each other back?
Split2Trip works out the smallest number of transfers to bring everyone back to zero. Everyone settles their share in one tap, by instant bank transfer with no fees, and you can track what’s been sent and received.

No, never. And your data is never sold.
Documents and privacy
What happens to my documents?
They stay in the trip vault, visible only to the people you choose, hosted in France. ID documents are deleted after the trip, unless you decide to keep them. With the new app, they’ll also be end-to-end encrypted.
Do tickets go into Wallet?
When a ticket has a barcode, Split2Trip turns it into a pass you can add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet: it pops up at the airport, even with no signal.
How do I delete my data?
From the app settings, you can export your data or delete your account at any time (what you shared in a trip stays visible to the others, without your name). You can also write to us at contact@split2trip.com.
